ORION MOTOR CLUB.
The second annual report of the Orion Aloior Cycle Ciuo, to be submitted by the president, Air VV. K. Aliller, at tlie annual meeting, is as follows: — ' ‘.During the year wo held two winding up socials, the first being a winding up social and presentation of cups and trophies won during tne previous season. Tins function was poorly attended and resulted in a loss of £4 Gs 3d. The second social and presentation of cups and trophies won during the past season, was well attended and a very enjoyable evening was spent by the memoers and their friends; this social showed a pront of ill 3s id. Muring the season four picnics and sports were held, two at Mungabainbua and two at the l'oxton beach. These outings proved very enjoyable, and the competitions were keenly contested, and, as shown by the balance-sheet, a pront of £2 17s 5d was made. In addition to the foregoing, eight reliability trials were held and were won by as follow: Bruce and Bai Cup, Mr U. JNewson; Hiekford Cup, Mr C. Newson; Bai Cup, Mr T. H. Robson; P. and M. Trophy, Mr i. Taylor; Winter Cup, Mr L. Radford; Harley llavidson Cup, Mr M. Birch; Orion Challenge Cup (with which the Norton Cup was run in conjunction), Mr I'. A. Rasmussen; Miller-Pasley Cup, Mr E. Pink. The club is indebted to Mr S. Hickford and Messrs Miller and Pasley for their generosity in presenting cups for reliability trials and we are also greatly thankful to all those who so kindly assisted in the trials by acting as checks, etc., for without their assistance we would find it very difficult and uninteresting in running reliability trials. Although our membership has suffered on account of the depression, it is pleasing to note tlrat the executive have kept down the expenditure to a minimum, the credit balance at the end of the year being £8 13s as against £ls 12s 5d last year. This latter amount would have been reduced to £6 9s 5d if the expenditure incurred by engraving trophies, an outstanding account and winding up social had been paid during that term. The club, in addition to the credit balance £8 13s, has general equipment amounting to £lO and cups and trophies valued at £75. In conclusion we wish to thank Mr V. Hansen for kindly making the club’s notice board.”
