INTER-ISLAND GAME
PAST RECORDS. NORTH ISLAND LEADS. The annual inter-island matches wer* apparently introduced in 1897 and in the intervening period the contest has been-staged annually with the exception of two breaks—the War peiiod of 1915-1918, and last year when the early arrival of the British team resulted in the fixture being deleted from the season’s activities. Prior to today’s game the representatives of the two islands had met 25 times, the North winning on 14 occasions and the South nine, while two games have been drawn. The scoring points registered have been: North 599, South 261. The complete record is as under :
