ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The management committee of the Manawatu I'ootball Association held its fortnightly meeting last evening, Mr J. C. X’oung presiding. Also present were Messrs lvey, Cooper, Kernpson, Baldwin, Blackwell Worrail, Johnston, Corry, Downes and J. B. Smillie (secretary). It having bewen reported that Coombs and Childs were unable to make the journey to Hamilton on Friday next as members of the Brown Shield team, Travers and Thomson were chosen to replace them. In connection with the visit of the Diamonds Club (Wellington) on August 22, the selectors, Messrs Cooper, Baldwin and Blackwell, were instructed to choose two teams —a senior eleven and one comprising players in the vicinity of 21 years of age. Messrs Facer and Smillie are to pick a junior team. Messrs Facer and Kempson 'were granted permission to take two boys’ teams to Wanganui on Saturday. It was decided that a secondary schools team be entered for the annual tournament to be held at Auckland from August 27 to 29. Arrangements for the primary school tournament had not been finalised. It was resolved that arrangements be made for R.S.A. to play a team representing “The Rest” in a friendly game on Saturday next.
