HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. NEW BILLS TO~BE INTRODUCED. Per Press Association WELLINGTON. July 21. In the House of Representatives this afternoon notice was given of intention to introduce the following bills: Defence Amendment (Minister of Defence), Deaths by Accident Compensation Amendment (Mr W. Downie Stewart), and Bank of New Zealand Amendment (Mr Langstone). PRIVILEGE QUESTION. In further reference to the breach of privilege question, Mr Lye handed in a copv of tho New Zealand’Herald of July 10, containing a full-page advertisement which, he contended, challenged his rights as a member of Parliament. The clerk read the heading of tho advertisement, beginning: “Thousands of Fools.” The Prime Minister moved that publication of the advertisement was a breach of the privileges of the House, and that the matter be referred to the committee of privilege set up previously. . The motion was adopted. BROADCASTING LEGISLATION. Renlving to Mr Semple, Hon. J. B Donald said that the broadenstin' legislation was at present before Cabinet. He hoped to make a statement shortly. SUNSHINE ASSOCIATION. Replying to Mr W. E. Parry, Hon. A. J. Stallworthy said that the Sunshine Association had carried -out a wonderful work in looking after the Hawke’s Bay earthquake refugee children at Motuihi Island. It would be

given permission to hold another sunshine camp this year. UNEMPLOYMENT AMENDMENT ACT. Sessional committees were then appointed. The Unemployment Amendment Act was returned to the House by Gover-nor-General’s Message with minor amendments intended to express more clearly the intention of clause 12. The amendments were approved.
