INQUEST ADJOURNED.
CASE AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 6. The death of Charles Lyes, a malster, of Wildbevrv Street, Woolston, who was found with a bullet wound in his head on Saturday morning at his house with a rifle beside him, was investigated to-day by the Coroner, Mr Young. \ Dr. Wyn Irwin, house surgeon at the Christchurch Hospital, said that on the admission of deceased he had seen only the one W’ound, which was at the back of the head, above the left ear. “If that was the only wound it would have been very difficult for it to have been self-inflicted,” remarked the Coroner.
Constable Bosworth said . that the wound was above the left ear, toward the back of the head. It could have been self-inflicted if deceased had leaned backwards over the gun.
The Coroner adjourned the inquest for the purpose of a post-mortem examination.
