The King has approved of the appointment of Air Reginald Harvey Hoare, Alinister Plenipotentiary at the Residency in Cairo, to be Envoy Extraordinary and Alinister Plenipotentiary at Teheran. A Rangoon message reports that a further 200 rebels have surrendered to the British authorities in the Prome district. The adherence of Canada to the Statutes of AYestminster has been approved of bv the Canadian Parliament. The first of these English Statutes, passed in 1275, “covers the whole ground of legislation. - ’ Tho second, passed in 1285. i.s almost a. code in itself, every clause of which has a lvearing on the growth of later English law. Peter Kuerten, the Dnsseldorf murderer, has been guillotined. A terrible tragedy took place on a dairy farm at Yandina, on the north coast of Queensland. A family of six are dead. The circumstances indicate that Norman AYallis murdered his wife and four children, aged ten, eight, five and 2f years, with a reapinghook, and set fire to tho house. The bodies were incinerated. AYallis committed suicide in an outhouse by blowing a portion of his head off with a detonator. He left a note indicating that somebody was trying to harm his wife.
