CARNARVON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON, Juno 17. Tho euchre party and dance organised by the Men’s Hockey Club in aid of the club fund, which was held in tho hall last week, was not quite so well attended ns the previous one, but a most enjoyable evening was spent by those present. For tho ladies’ prize at euchre Mrs D. H. Short, and Mises R. McKclvio and W. Clare tied with seven games each and Miss Claro was successful in the cut. Mrs L. Scott was awarded the. consolation prize. Mr G. R. McKenzie won the men’s first prize, with eight games, while Mr W. Frcklington took tho consolation. After supper, dancing was carried on to music supplied by Mr V. Wallis, of Feilding. On Saturday Misses Hill and E. Hill, R. McKelvio and Clare wore members of the Feilding representatives team which defeated Wanganui representatives at Wanganui. Messrs P. Florenco and P. Lofts, of the local mens club played for the Feilding team which drow with Wanganui in tho Winter Shield match. Next Saturday the local ladies’ team meets Colyton at Colyton, while the men’s team plays Stanway at Stanway.
