LIFE-SAVING.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Manawatu Head Centre of the Life-Saving Society was held last evening, those present being Messrs Collier (chair!. Taylor, Merry, Henry Arthur, and Small (secretary). The 'chief business was the authorisation of the award of life-saving ceitificates totalling 351 the following bodies being included: Schools,_ Teiracc End 116, Central 48, Boys High School 48, College Street. 47 technical 40, Russell Street 27, Girls' High 16, Levin District High 9. Also the Levin Aamateur Swimming Club 2. The matter of heating the water of the Municipal Baths was left to the chairman and secretary to liiako inquiries.
