OItOUA LODGE OF DRUIDS
The regular fortnightly meeting of the Oroua Lodge of Druids was field in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Tuesday evening, A.D., Bro. Stewart presiding over a good attendance of members. Visitors from tire Hawera, Alas ter ton, Taihape, Acorn and Alakino lodges were welcomed by the A.D. A letter from the R.A.CJ. stated that P.A. Bro. A. E. Jackson, P.D.P. Bro. Ella and Bro. Davidson were the judges ap]K>inted for the contest taking place in May at Tokomaru for the Mathie-Banks Ritual Shield. P.D.P. Bro. Elsmore reported on the U.E.S. Dispensary and P.A. Bro. Lowndes reported on the U.E.S. Council and reminded members of the social and dance organised by the council to be held in the Foresters’ Hall. Bro. Lowndes also reported that arrangements had been made for games of bowls with two; lodges for the Inter-Lodge Bowls Shield competition and two rinks of players were chosen. After the lodge closed a dainty supper was dispensed by the Sisters and the carpet green was seen in full swing, selected teams putting in some good practice at bowls.
