LONDON LOAN.

PRIAIE AIINISTER’S DENIAL. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, April 11. A published report that the Government was raising a large loan on the London market was referred to the Prime Alinister by the “Standard’s” correspondent, who obtained an explicit denial. “I have never heard of it,” declared Air Forbes, who added that there were no loan operations at present. For reasons he had given fully to the House the previous evening, there would be no departure from that course.

‘ We have our loan authorities from last session for what is required, but there is no foundation for the report that we are placing a large loan. It is far from the-Government’s intentions at present.”
