GARRISON BAND

Tlic usual fortnightly recital of the Garrison Band will be given all the Esplanade to-morrow afternoon. The band is now playing in tine form, and, as the programme is of a varied nature, it should meet with the approval of the public. The overture, “String of Pearls,” is a new number, and embraces the following: “Precioso,” “William Tell,’’ “Bohemian Girl,” and “Zampa.” The young cornet soloist (Sergeant Register) gives his first solo, accompanied by a fell brass band, with the number “Silver Showers.” The selection “Weber” is a beautiful number, and careful attention lias been given to detail. This programme concludes the year’s activities, and the band has received much approval for the quality of the programmes submitted.
