WOODVILLE. March 19, The euchre party and dance, held in the Foresters’ Hall, Woodville, on luesday evening, proved a most enjoyable function. The attendance iva- large, and included visitors from the surrounding districts, The floor was in excellent order, and dancing was kept merrily going until the early hours of the morning. A very tasty supper was provided. The results of the euchre were a 5 follow Ladies: Mrs Hayes (Riverbank) 1, Mrs Gallon 2. Men’s: P. Martin 1, Mr Schroder 2. . Woodville was in total darkness lor an hour cn Tuesday night, so far as tnc streets and electrically-lighted residences are concerned owing to a failure in the electric power system. Fhe fault was attributed to the Public Works Department. A good deal cf inconvenience was occasioned by the power going off, but the situation was accepted philosophically, and candles and lamp s were called into reqiusition. At the railway picnic the proceedings were enlivened by music by the Railway Band, which was assisted by visiting players. The playing , of the band was favourably commented upon by all. Sullivan for a donation of £l, Mr Turnbull for 10s 6d and Mr Hustwick for two trophies. They also extend their thanks to Messrs Turnbull, Galbraith and Co., and Mrs McCormack for providing articles necessary for the afternoon’s sport. A cup has been generously offered by Mr J.
