POSITION OF CANADIAN IMPORTERS. Received February 21, 1.5 p.m. VICTORIA (British Columbia), Feb. 20. The automobile importers of British Columbia are planning representations to the Government, claiming that the industry faces ruin as a result of the announcement of a twenty per cent, increase in the tariff on United States automobiles. A message from Ottawa states: “It is reported that four leading United States automobilo manufacturers plan the establishment of Canadian branch factories as a result of the new tariff,”
