PORT AT NAPIER.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —The following extract from a personal letter written to me by the manager of Richardson and Coy., Ltd., of Napier, received to-night will convey welcome news to many Napier residents now enjoying the hospitality of your town: “With mo things are very lively here as both the lightering and coastal vessels are running, and at high pressure too, and many difficulties continue to crop up. To-day the Parera (600 ton?) came alongside the wharf and there is sufficient depth for all our vessels to do likewise. Tho slip at the breakwater will be cleared in about 10 days so you will be able to let any croakers know that our port is functioning just the same. (Signed K. McLeay.”—l am, etc., ,G. E. WATERAVORTH. Racecourse, Awapuui, February 19, 1931.
