MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

CIVIL CLAIM. A short sitting of the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court was held this morning, Messrs W. H. MacKinnon and J. T. Bosworth. J.P’s., presiding. Lewis and Coutts (Mr Petersen) were Granted judgment by default against E. M. Rossiter, for £1 7s 9d, with costs Bs. REMAND GRANTED.

Charged with the theft on November 19 of a gold watch and chain and a camera, of a total value of £lO., the property of E. V. West, of Victoria Avenue, a Maori, George Frederick Murphy, who appeared at the Palmerston North Police Court this morning, was remanded to appear to-morrow.
