UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD’S DECISION.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON, Jan. 20
“In view of all the circumstances connected with the flax industry the board is of the opinion that it would be inadvisable to subsidise the wages of flaxmill workers at the present stage.”
This is the official advice received by the Mayor of Shannon, Air E. Butt, in reply to the deputation which met the Unemployment Board ion-January 8 to discuss the question of subsidising the wages of flaxworkers.
