WHEAT UNSALEABLE.

PLIGHT OF AUSTRALIAN GROWERS. Received December 31, 8.30 a.m. SYDNEY Dec. 31. The deplorable plight or the wheatgrowers is exemplified in the latest announcement that the merchants have ceased, operating. Practically no ship, ments are being arranged, and silo facilities are wholly incapable of holding the wheat now being harvested, because a million bushels of last season’s wheat is still on hand at the terminal elevators. Furthermore, the farmers have not the ready cash to buy bags. It is officially stated that wheat is practically unsaleable. Argentina grain is being offered in London at 2s fid a bushel and Australian at 3s OJd.
