SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS.
A meeting of the executive committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held recently in Wellington, the following members being in attendance: Messrs J. M. Elliffe, R. Davis, J. L. Griffin and E. W. Hunt. Letters were received from the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand and from the New Zealand Accountants' and Auditors' Association, advising that resolutions had been passed by both bodies to the effect that they would not promote or support any opposition to an application by the New Zealand Society of Accountants for a Royal charter. The following were admitted to membership: Messrs S. W. Hodgson, A. R. Hutchings, J. L. McKissock and E. J. McParland, all of Wellington. Messrs James Milne (Wellington) and R. W. Lock (Auckland) were classified as public accountants. _ It was decided to communicate with a firm of public accountants regarding an endorsement appearing in the prospectus of a company, in respect of an estimate of the future profits of the company.
