NEW ZEALAND PREMIER.
INSPECTION OF BATTLEFIELDS. "LONDON, Dec. 6. A crowd of New Zealanders and others led b.y Sir Thomas Wilford cheered many times as Mr G. W. Forbes, Sir Thomas Sidey and their wives and staff departed for France from Victoria Station. Mr Forbes is visiting the battlefields and Paris, and is joining the Ormonde at Toulon. Before leaving, the New Zealand Prime Minister called on Mr Ramsay MacDonald and placed a wreath on the Westminster Abbey tablet to the Empire’s million dead. Mr Forbes ako interviewed Sir Ernest Harvey, deputy-Governor of the Bank of England. In a final statement Mr Forbes paid a tribute to the hospitality shown him throughout Britain and Ireland. Ho said that though the Imperial Conference decisions had not gone as far as ho had hoped, some important decisions were reached . and many undecided questions considered. The personal contacts with public and commercial loaders wero most valuable. New Zealand sold the bulk of her products to Britain and as a matter of sentiment gave preference through the Customs and desired the fullest measure of preference. He highly appreciated the goodwill New Zealand enjoyed in Britain.
