LOSS OF STEAMER.
DEVELOPMENTS EXPECTED. POSITION OF THE HEDVIG. Received December 6, 11.15 a.m. HONGKONG, Dec. 5. There are mysterious rumours following the rescue of the steamer Hedvig’s crew, which consists of _ a Dutch captain, the owner, two British men, two Americans and nine Chinese. The mystery is what she was doing in the vicinity of Pratas Reef when she stranded. Sensational developments are expected. The officials concerned are extremely reticent.
