EXECUTIVE AIEETING
A meeting of the executive of the Palmerston North Girl Guides’ Association was held yesterday afternoon, Miss Warburton, District Commissioner, occupying the chair. There were present also* Airs G. C. Keeble (hon. secretary), Mrs Curry (hon. treasurer), Mrs Grant Sim, All’s O’Connor, Mrs A. E. Mansford and Airs AI, Aitchison. Representing the company committees were Mrs Carruthers, Mrs Wimsett, Airs F. Bennett. An apology for ato: nee was received from Airs J. A. Ne h.
Mrs Curry reported on the last provincial executive meeting in Wellington on October 9. The executive discussed the question of the Guiders’ library as to whether the committee would prefer .to subscribe to a provincial library or whether they would continue to support the district library. It was decided that the latter arrangement was preferable. Aliss Warburton was elected to represent the association at the next (provincial meeting to be held in Wellington on December 11.
It was reported that the return ' fare for the Palmerston North Guides attending the rally in Wellington on February 28 would be ss. There will also be special fares for adults attending the rally. Aliss Warburton reported that she proposed to take her company to camp at Porewa, Alarton, in the second half of January and that a stall to augment the camp funds would be held at an early date. A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded Mrs Nash for her donation towards the funds and also for a handbag which she had given as a prize for a competition..
