HIGH TRIBUTE PAID. BY’ SMITHFIELD OFFICIAL. Received November 18. 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 17. Mr G. W. Forbes, accompanied by Air R. S. Forsyth, London manager of the .Meat Producers’ Board, to-day visited the Smithfield market, where they were welcomed by Mr Conoley, chairman of the markets committee, and numerous salesmen.

Mr Conoley paid a high tribute to the quality of the New Zealand meat. Air Forbes said that he was gratified to leam at first hand ( that Now Zealand produce was so good, and he hoped that increasing supplies would meet the same good market. Much of tho success was due to the Dominion’s representation, notably the goodwill Air Forsyth had established.

AIR FORBES’S AIOVEAIENTS. VISIT TO QUARANTINE STATION. Received November 18, 12.20 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 17. Air Forbes spent part of this afternoon at the Alinistry of Agriculture’s quarantine station at the East Indies Docks, inquiring into the possibilities for modifying New Zealand’s embargo against importations of stud stock from Britain. Air Forbes will spend Wednesday in Edinburgh and Thursday in Glasgow. He will be at Bradford on November 24, Liverpool on November 25, and Manchester the following day. Ho will return to London on November 27. The first day of December will be spent in Dublin, and the following day in Belfast. He will arrive back in London on December 4.
