METHODIST CHURCH.
A special service was held in the Cuba Street Methodist Church last evening when Rev. J. Grocott, of Wairoa, delivered one of a series of probationary trial sermons. The candidate chose as his lesson the parable of the Good Shepherd. The text selected was John X., part of verse 10, 1 am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundaiMr Grocott, who is well known in the Bible class movement of the church, will attend the synod in Feilding this week. . . The examining committee last evening comprised Rev. W. B. Cuming (Wqodville) and Rev. H. Mliite (Dannevirke).
