DROWNING FATALITY.

YOUTH UNABLE TO SWIM

GISBORNE, Sept. 22. At the inquest to-day concerning the death of Roy Pearson, aged 17, a son of Mrs S. J. Pearson, who was drowned at Kaiti beach on Sunday through a dinghy capsizing, the evidence showed that the three occupants were thrown into the water about 200 yards from the shore. Deceased con'd not swim.

The Coroner, Mr Harper, S.M., returned a verdict of accidental death, and said that he would like to commend the two survivors, Victor Gilbert Pearson, a brother of deceased, and John Campbell Morris, a brother-in-law, on the steps they took to rescue deceased.
