APPOINTMENT OF BISHOP.

CAPETOWN, Sept! 21. Dr. Neville Talbot, Bishop of Pretoria, was chosen to succeed the late Bishop Long as Bishop of Newcastle but has declined the honour. Dr. Talbot is at present returning from the Lambetlr Conference. He sent a wireless message from the ship to the effect that he was grateful for the honour of his election, but that he could not accept the appointment.
