MISHAP TO STEAMER.
VESSEL RETURNS TO AUCKLAND,
“HAD A TERRIBLE TIME.”

. AUCKLAND, Sept. 20. The Union Company’s Iviwitea, bound from Auckland to Westport, commenced to make -water in No. 2 hold last Wednesday and returned to Auckland last night. It was discovered that there was an opening in the hull through the starting of the rivets. “We had a terrible time,” said a member of the crew to-day. “We began to think we were to be a second Tahiti disaster.”
