TE AWE AWE SCOUTS.
MEETING OF TROOP COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Te Awe Awe Scout Committee was held on Tuesday evening, Mr W. Jones presiding. Also present were Mesdames Swan, Creighton, C. L. Turnbull (secretary), Messrs F. Tucker, P. Flood, C: L. Turnbull and H. Facer (scoutmaster). Apologies for absence were received from Mr A. W. Sutton and Mesdames Briden-Jones and H. Facer. Matters in connection with the Chief Scout’s visit to New Zealand were discussed, and it was decided that nothing definite, could be done until advice had been received from the "Manawatu Commissioner, Mr N. D. ’Stubbs, regarding arrangements. A church parade was arranged for all Scouts in the city at All Saints’ Church on Sunday, September 28. It was reported that the boys had conducted a stall very, successfully during the recent Soccer tournament at North Street, the proceeds being in aid of camp funds.'. The Scoutmaster stated that the boys were parading well and showing attention to their work. Nine hoys were going up for their ambulance badges on Friday next. The secretary reported that some of the boys leaving had failed to return their scarves, which were the property of the committee. Every endeavour was being made to have them recovered as to replace them would put the committee to considerable expense. Mr W. Jones was elected to act as the troop’s representative on the Manawatu district committee.
