CHANGING LONDON.
GREAT BUILDING ACTIVITY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 17. The immense amount of building activity which has occurred in London during the last decade shows no signs of decreasing. . In ten years a quarter of a million new buildings have been erected, and the appearance of the capital has changed. Slum areas have been swept away and replaced by more commodious and hygienic erections; old offices and shops have given way to new, enlarged and far more spacious and beautiful structures, and several familiar land-marks have entirely disappeared. The building boom is expected to continue and extend under the encouragement of the new Housing Acts.
