SIR OTTO NIEMEYER’S VISIT,
BANKING AND CURRENCY

WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. Sir Otto Niemeyer, the Bank of England expert, who is visiting New Zealand at the invitation of the Government in order to inquire into questions relating to banking and currency, is being kept fully occupied with his investigations in Wellington, and he is in constant communication with the Treasury. He is to leave on a visit to Rotorua to-morrow, and lie
will return to complete his work on Tuesday. . Questioned concerning Sir Otto’s inquiries this evening, the Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. E. A. Ransom, said that he would confine his activities strictly to questions upon which he had been asked to report. Mr Ransom said that he was not certain whether Sir Otto would place his report in the hands of the Government before he returned to Australia or whether he would complete it after leaving the country.
