BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS. Aug. 14. There was a good attendance at- the Oddfellows’ progressive euchre patty hold iti tho Town Hall supper room on Wednesday evening, and the prize-winners were Mrs H. Stevens and Mr F. Lovell. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs F. Lovell and Mr Duncan Bromley. The . damage done to the Bulls bridge early .in the week has been repaired, but motorists are warned of the dangerous nature of the structure in wet or trosty weather. In order to prevent skidding it might be advisable to give the decking of ■ the bridge a coat of tar, followed by a coat of sand. Farmers are now very'busy, ciows coming in good numbers, and lambs making their appearance everywhere. The wet. cold weather experienced last week was responsible for considerable mortality amongst lambs, but warmer conditions have now sec in, and both cows and lambs are reported to be doing well. There is little growth amongst pasture land at present, but the ground has had a good soaking with rain, and the grass will soon come away with a continuation of the weather of the past few days.
