MANGATAINOKA.
(From Our Own Correspondent). MANGATAINOKA. Aug. 9. The Mangatainoka Women’s Institute held their monthly meeting in the Library Hall. There was a good attendance. Mrs Ross, Ruawhata, gave a very interesting demonstration of rug-making from old materials and Mr Hamilton, of Pahiatua, gave an* exhibition of pruning roses, and gave several other gardening hints which were much appreciated by all present. The hostesses were Mrs Power and Mrs Rusden. A delightful afternoon tea was served and a very hearty vote of thanks given to Mrs Ross and Mr Hamilton. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs Keast. Mr E. L. Harvey and Mr Bert Harvey motored to Wellington for the football match. Miss C. Olsen, of Wellington, is on a short visit to her parents, Mr an/? Mrs M. Olsen. Miss M. Leach is leaving to take up an appointment in western Rangitikei.
