POWER BOARD MEETS.

MANAWATU-OROUA SUPPLY. The monthly meeting of the Mana-watu-Oroua Electric Power Board was held yesterday, Mr J. A. Nash, M.P-, presiding. Others present were Messrs M. A. Eliott, P. J. Small, J. Hodgens, P. G. Guy, A. Campbell I'. Roberts, J. H. Perrett, H. H. Hunt and L. T. McLean, Messrs W. A. Waters (chief engineer) and K. W. Eglinton (secretary). Reporting on the position regarding engagement of an apprentice who had not served three years at wiring work, Mr Waters stated that the matter had been placed before the Apprenticeship Committee and the Inspector of I*ahour had undertaken to appear in the Arbitration Court to defend the boy concerned against the cancellation of tho apprenticeship articles. Mr H. D. Campbell, of Feeding, one of the Board’s employees, wrote explaining the position with reference to the claim of the difference between wages and insurance during the time he was off work.—The letter was rechived • The' Wellington Electrical Workers’ Industrial Union wrote thanking the Board for making a grant to Mr Campbell.
