LONDON MARKET
MORE FAVOURABLE FACTORS.
(Bv Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, July 26. Cabled reports from London indicate that more favourable factors are again operating in the dairy produce market, which is stronger in tone after holding for some weeks at 136 s a cwt.
The top price for New Zealand finest has advanced to 138 s, which is being secured for freshly-landed supplies, while for exceptionally good quality up to 140 sis quoted. Last week’s messages reported the market for New Zealand butter to be slow, with choicest quoted at 134 sto 1365, but cablegrams despatched from London on Thursday indicate that the demand has improved and that the market is firm at advanced rates, which in the case of the best quality represent a rise of 4s during the week. An improvement of 3s is recorded for cheese, the latest quotation for white being 79s to 80s as against 76s to 77s last week and for ooloured 82a to 84s, against 81s to 82s last week. The market, however, is reported to be quieter at higher prices.
