FOXTON BRANCH LINE.

EVIDENCE PREPARED. The committee appointed at a meeting at Rangiotu on Wednesday to draw up evidence relating to the Foxton branch line met in Palmerston North this morning. Those present were Messrs M. E. Perreau, representing the Foxton Harbour Board and Foxton Borough Council; W. Barber, chairman of the Manawatu County Council, representing the Foxton Harbour Board; F. C. Raikes, president of the Manawatu Egg Producers’ Association, representing the Foxton Chamber of Commerce; and M. A. Eliott, representing the Palmerston North Borough Council and Chamber of Commerce. Mr Gimblett, president of the Rangiotu branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, sent an apology for his unavoidable absence. The proceedings were not open to the Press.

A comprehensive and unanimous report was approved, and has been typed _ and forwarded to the Railway Commission at present hearing evidence.
