FLYING BOATS.

ORDERED FOR FRENCH SERVICE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 16. The French Government has ordered from Messrs Short Brothers, Rochester, two more “Calcutta” flying boats for the French naval air service. The machines, which are mainly constructed of metal, will each be equipped with three engines of the well-known Bristol-Jupiter pattern. The order is the sequel to the earlier purchase of a Calcutta flying boat, which has given extremely satisfactory service.
