’PLANE CRASH
AIRMEN’S TRIALS. STILL NO NEWS OF MR HOOK. NUMEROUS SEARCH PARTIES OUT (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received July 15 10.20 a.m. DELHI, July 14. It is known that Messrs Eric Hook and James Matthews were not injured when their ’plane crashed in a flat open space in the jungle. They started off in the direction of what they believed to bo a village, but after some time they found themselves back at where they had started. They made a further attempt by following the Buyo Stream, but as they had to swim the river several times Mr Hook collapsed. Mr Matthews carried him some distance, but he was too weak to continue.
It was a matter of Mr Matthews going for help or lying down to die with Mr Hook and Mr Matthews took the most practical course. At present there is no news of Mr Hook, although numerous search parties are scouring the neighbourhood whore Mr Matthews states lie left him. It is reported that the accident happened about 150 miles from Prome.
