BOXING TOURNAMENT IN AID OF UNEMPLOYMENT FUND.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I encroach upon your space to bring to the notice of the public the boxing tournament in aid of the above fund? This tournament takes place to-morrow evening, and I should like to take this opportunity of pointing out that all the trophies, which indeed are very high olass, have been generously donated by citizens of Palmerston North. We have been promised a substantial reduction in theatre hire and expense generally has been reduced to a minimum by reason of the fact that those approached have felt the urgency of the occasion, and have been only "too willing to assist us in our endeavour to raise a good sum in aid of the fund. Ail that now remains is for the public to assist us with their patronage. W T e have reduced admission charges to a minimum and I can assure the public that they will witness a good evening’s entertainment and will at the same time know they are helping a cause which no doubt all will agree merits the support of each and every one of us. — I am, etc., EARLE R. WIMSETT, President Manawatu Boxing Association.
