OFFICER APPOINTED

The Manawatu Automobile Association has appointed Mr F. W. Parker, of Palmerston. North, as service omcer, and he commenced his duties yesterday. . . • a- .1 „ In appointing a service officer, tne committee is endeavouring to give motorists the best possible service. His duties not only consist of assisting motorists in trouble, but include enrolling new members, collecting subscriptions, and assisting motorists in parking, etc. Sign-posting, a big feature of the work of automobile associations, will receive more and bettor attention at the hands of the officer, who will attend to this matter when making a periodical tour of the district to furnish road reports which, are issued by the associations. The service officer will also assist motorists in adjusting their headlights and is engaged to generally assist all motorists in every possible way.
