MANAWATU HUNT.
POINT-TO-POINT STEEPLECHASE.
The committee of the Manawatu Hunt met on Saturday night, Mr L. H. Collinson (Master; presiding. The Master was appointed delegate to attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Hunts’ Association in .Wellington on July 8. It was decided to hold the annual point-to-point steeplechases at Te Mata l, on Av'ednesday, July 16, Mr G. V. Shannon kindly placing his property at the disposal of the hunt; The following events were arranged : —Manawatu Hunt Heavyweight Steeplechase, about 2i miles, minimum weight 13st; Kiwitea Lightweight Steeplechase, about 2} miles, minimum weight list Tibs: Newbury Open Point-to-Point Steeplechase, about 2£ miles, minimum weight 12st, to be followed by a ladies jumping competition. Substantial jirizes in the shape of trophies will be given for first, second and third in each event. . The following fixtures for the remainer of the season were drawn up: —Saturday, June 28, at Mr D. L. Younger’s, Cinder Hill; Wednesday, July 2, at Mrs Curie's and Mr O. Collis’s, Kairanga; Saturday, July 5, at Mr A. Kidd’s, Kiwitea; Wednesday, July 9, at Rangitikei Line; Saturday, July 12, at 8.-6. Perry’s, Waituni; Wednesday July 16, . Point-to-Point Steeplechases at Te Matai; Saturday, July 19, at Mr W. Osborne’s, Glen Orona; Saturday, July 26, at Mr >s. H. Lodgo’s Kiwitea; July 28, at Mr T. It. Taylor’s, Kiwitea: T'htirsday and Saturday, July 31 _ and August 2, Manawatu races; Wednesday, August 6, at the Kennels.
