MISS YUKI KIMURA.

ADDRESS AT Y.W.C.A. Last evening, in the Y.W.C.A. club rooms, Miss Yuki Ivimura, the Japanese lady national Y.W.C.A. secretary, delivered an interesting address on Lae girls and Y.W.C.A. organisations of her country. In dealing with tlio young women of Japan, Miss Ivimura divided her subject into three phases. She spoke of the students who attend the universities and colleges as she herworking in factories and following inself had done. The young women dustrial pursuits, did not leave their place of employment but were accommodated in hostels built by the employers. Members of the Y.W.C.A. visited these hostels' regularly, and thus considerably brightened the lives of the workers. As in Western countries, the business girl was prominent, and colleges provided commercial courses embracing typewriting, bookkeeping, and shorthand. Miss Ivimura also spoke of the Japanese Y.W.C.A. The guest of honour was presented with bouquets by representatives of the girl citizens’ movement, Flock and Presbyterian young women’s Bible House, and the Anglican, Methodist welcomed Miss Ivimura, who, at the classes. Each representative briefly conclusion of her address, answered a number of questions. The serving of a dainty supper concluded an enjoyable and instructive evening.
