TOKOMARU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMARU, May 19. Mrs 11. Hansen and Miss Hansen left on Monday for Napier where they will be tho guests of Mr and Mrs D. McClay. Mrs A. McDonald, of Plimmerton, is tho guest of Mr and Mrs H. Wilton. Mr and Mrs Carmichael and their son, Mr Richard Carmichael, of Raetihi, who were tho guests of Mrs H. Morgan, left on Friday by car for their home. They were accompanied by Miss V. Morgan. Mrs F. Gyde and family are holidaying at Pipiriki. Mr and Mrs S. Coad, of Taranaki, who were the guests of Mrs G. Wenman, have returned to their home. On Friday evening the Tokomaru Football Club held a very successful benefit euchre and dance for the two injured players who will each receive £5. The successful card players were: Ladies, Mrs A. Todd first, Mrs V. Clarridge consolation. Gentlemen: Mr L. Ward first; Mr S. Kennard consolation. Tho two competition winners were Mrs E. Titcombe (cake) and Miss Dick Stokes (cigarettes). Music was supplied by the followingMr R. Baylis, Mrs G. Williams, Misses K. Williams, J. Bree and D. Webb. Mr A. Williams was the capable M.C. On Wednesday last the St. Aidan’s Church held a successful jumble sale in aid of the church funds which it is hoped will benefit considerably by the sale. Mrs J. Wells was the capable sales lady.
