LADIES’ HOCKEY.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Ladies’ Hockey Association was held on Monday evening. Mr W. Broughton was in the chair, and also present were: Misses W. Ranson, N. Gillbransen, F. Highfield, J. Mitchell Mrs A. McCulloch, Messrs G. Mitchell, W. Lundy, F. Amos, C. L. Turnbull and F. T. Vasey (secretary). The secretary reported that entries for tho tournament on Juno 3 were coming to hand in encouraging numbers. A letter was received from tho C. and C. Hockey Club notifying Mr Lundy’s election as delegate for the club. Tho headmaster of tho Glen Oroua School wrote asking for assistance for their school hockey teams. It was decided to give the school all possible assistance and to ask the players and ex-piayers to hand in any sticks no longer needed. Mr P. T. Robinson’s election as delegate for the club was notified by a letter received from the High School Old Girls’ Club. An application for the registration of Miss Attfield as a player was rereceived from the High School Old Girls’ Club. Applications were also received from Rongotea and C. and C.’s for the registration of Misses M. Robinson and M. Watt respectively. The Bunnythorpe Club applied to register Misses L. Mitchell and N. Grant. In connection with the June 3 tournament arrangements the following sub-committees were elected:—Protests, Messrs Broughton, Ranson and Vasey; grounds, Messrs Broughton and Turnbull; stewards, Messrs Ranson, Mitchell, Robinson and Turnbull; timekeepers, Mrs McCulloch, Messrs Weston Smith and T. Richards; referee steward, Mr F. Amos; gatekeeper, Mr Finnie. It was decided to accept a tender for the refreshment booth.
