COST OF LIVING.
(British Official Wirejess.) Received May 20, 10.5 a.m. RUGBY, May 19. At May 1 the average level of retail prices of commodities was approximately 55 per cent above that of Jnly, 1914, as compared with 57 per cent, a month ago and 61 per cent a year ago. The fall in the general percentage increase since April 1 iyas largely due to reductions in the prices of butter, milk and coal. The cost of living is shown by this figure to be lower now than at any lime since October, 1916.
