GREAT MOTOR RACE.

BRITISH VICTORY. (British Official Wireles.s) RUGBY, May 12. The double twelve hours’ international motor race at Brooldaiids ended yesterday in a victory for Britain. A Bentley car, which averaged 86.8 miles an hour for twenty-four hours, driven by Barnato and Clements, won the event. A Bentley driven by Davies and Dunfee, at an average speed of 85.68 miles an hour, was second, a Riley car was third, and an Aston Martin fourth. The team cup was won by Morris midget cars. Several women were among the competitors. Heavy rain in the last few hours caused some dangerous skids, and Earl Howe, who was driving a Bugatti, had a narrow escape from disaster when a back wheel worked loose. Earl Howe, with Captain Malcolm Campbell, was travelling at a speed of 100 miles an hour at the time.
