BOXING.

STRIBLING DEFEATS GERMAN CHAMPION. "LONDON, May 8. At the Albert Hall to-night, Young Stribling defeated the German heavyweight champion, Hans Sclironrath. The referee stopped the fight in the second round, when Schronrath was down for counts of eight and five. INJURED HANDS. DUNEDIN, May 9. Alan Campbell, the newly-crowned Heavyweight boxing champion of New Zealand, is likely to be out of the fight game for some time. In his match with Jim Broadfoot he won comfortably, but critics expressed the opinion that he should have finished Broadfoot off, so superior was he. However, it turns out that Campbell broke his right hand in the second round, a subsequent examination revealing that it was broken in two places. His left hand also is weak owing to an injury in his match with Cleveley.
