CATTLE PURCHASED.

CONSIGNMENT FROM AMERICA. The executive of the New Zealand Ayrshire Breeders’ Association met at Palmerston North yesterday. Mr C. E. C., Webb (Levin) occupied the chair, and there were also present Messrs J. Atkins, C. B. Morgan, J. Aitchison, 11. Webb and Mr T. Webb (ex officio). The Governor-General’s acceptance of the patronage of the association was disclosed in a letter received from Government House. A letter was read from a stock firm stating that they had received a cablegram from Mr A. M. Weir, dispatched from Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada, advising that five bulls had bgcn purchased as follows:—Selwood First Choice, 8 months; Selwood Highland Prince, 8 months; Avonsydo Star of Fame, 13 months; Harnesbel Calamity Price, 9 months; Credholme Top Grade, 19 months. It was stated that the cattle were expected to arrive at Auckland cn June 8 by the Canadian Constmcter, which left Halifax on April 25.
