v M.U., 1.0.0. F. The Manchester Unity, Independent Order of Oddfellows, held its usual fortnightly meeting in the Cuba Street hall last evening, N.G. Bro. ,YVallace presiding over a large attendance of members. The sick visitors’ report was received. Candidates were initiated into the lodge and order, while three were proposed for membership, N.G. Bro. Christiansen acting as conductor. The. return bowling match with the Foresters, it was reported, took place on YVednesday, Al>ril 9, and resulted in a win for Loyal Manawatu by 64 to 46. The teams were as follow: M.U.: Bros. Drury, YVass, Christiansen, Flyger (skip) lost to A.0.F.: Bros. Dennan, Halgerson, Hancock, Edwards (skip) 22 to 27. M.U.: Bros, ltyan, Farrar, Maloolm, Dilks (skip) beat A.0.F.: Bros. Sharman, Smith, Pedersen and Rosanoski (skip) by 32 to 19. At the close of the tournament, the visitors were entertained at supper. The lodge closed at 10 p.m. when all adjourned to supper served by the sisters present, after which the Oddfellows entertained with song and dance.
