BIG SUM INVOLVED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 15. In the Supreme Court to-day, John Albert Simes, aged 19, was sentenced to three years’ detention in a Borstal institution on charges of theft as a bank clerk at Alexandra. Ovr £6OO was involved. Statements showed that accused had been given a email motor by his people, but subsequently he bought a big car for £430. Mr Justice Kennedy remarked that evidently a streak of vanity had something to do with accused’s predicament.
