ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
PROPOSED NEW ZEALAND TOUR. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 14. That the differences between two Association football factions in Australia must be settled before a New Zealand team was sent to Australia was the view expressed by Mr F. Campbell at a meeting of the New Zealand Football Association to-night. The final reply ns to whether the differences had- been reconciled waa-due from Australia on April 25. The unfortunate part of it was that the unconstitutional body was stronger, and it would be suicide to send a New Zealand team over if the trouble still existed, for the second body would put on counter attractions wherever Australian and New Zealand teams wore playing. Mr Hayward said that he would like to see a New Zealand team go, for he did not think that a new body wpuld be unsportsmanlike enough to put on counter attractions. The matter was left in the hands of the New Zealand Council. Mr Hayward expressed the hope that when a similar situation arose in New Zealand the council would be prepared to deal with it and bring amateurs and professionals under one control. This had been done by the New Zealand Boxing Association. 1 Mr G. Cox declared that no one would be willing to send a New Zealand team to Australia except under the’ constitutional body. ’ It was decided to recommend the New Zealand Council to appoint a sole selector.
