FALL IN SHIP’S HOLD.

Per Press Association. WESTPORT, April 15. Abdul Berriclf, employed as a lamp trimmer on the s.s. Rosevic, fell from the ’tween decks to the bottom of the hrld when the vessel was 18 miles off Westport. On the arrival of the vessel in the roadstead, a doctor was signalled and the injured man attended to. He was subsequently admitted to the hospital, where he died at 7.30 o’clock on Monday evening. At the inqubst to-day, the evidence given showed that, deceased went down the hold on. his own'‘accord to obtaina barrel and fell from the ’tween decks. A verdict was returned that death was caused by a fracture of the skull, accidentally caused by deceased’s, falling down the hold on the Rosevic on April 14. The burial, with dan rites, took place at the Orawaiti cemetery to-day. About 60 of the deceased’s countrymen were. present. The ceremony was most impressive.
